Afternoon Tea

If learning is fun, it will be more effective!

At Ecole du Nord our students and our pedagogical team work closely to spend some good time in learning together.
Our LCE & SI 6e students shared together an afternoon tea with their English teacher. A good way to learn more about English tradition and culture.

The students of the 6e International Section discovered to quintessential British afternoon tea!

Each student was responsible for sharing with their classmates what they had learnt on a specific cake, pastry or savoury, traditionally served at tea. They learnt about the origins of the Apple Crumble, the colourful Battenberg cake, the unexpected Eccles cake, the invention of the sandwich and so many mouth-watering bakes.

On a Monday afternoon, the class gathered outdoors for a pleasant moment of sharing and tasting.
The students had prepared Cornish pasties, finger sandwiches, Swiss Rolls, Scones, Butterfly cakes, Simnel, Eccles cake, Welsh cake, Apple Crumble, Victoria Sponge, Scottish fruit bread, Lemon Drizzle and of course a nice cup of tea!

What a pleasant moment it was!
