1st edition of the French Schools Public Speaking Competition

Last week, Ecole du Nord had the great pleasure of hosting the inaugural French Schools Public Speaking Competition.

International Section students from Ecole du Centre and Lycee Labourdonnais joined our SI students to deliver speeches inspired by civil rights activist, Ruby Bridges, environmentalist, Greta Thunberg, British novelist, Amelia Barr, and Malala Yousafzai, the human rights champion.

The speeches were fantastic, and our panel of judges found it an almost impossible task to decide upon whom should receive a ‘Certificate of Outstanding Achievement’. In the end, this honour was awarded to Doorgeshwaree Greedharee from 3eme and Vineet Damry from 4eme.

Congratulations to all our participants for a very entertaining and inspiring competition.
