Célébration en cours d’Anglais
L’équipe enseignante profite des célébrations à connotations britanniques, comme la fête de l’Indépendance ou la St Patrick, pour étudier l’anglais lors d’atelier. L’enseignement de l’anglais à l’École du Nord est une priorité à tous les niveaux et débute dès la maternelle. Au primaire, il existe : une progressivité du nombre d’heures d’exposition à l’anglais tout au long de la maternelle, par un enseignant externe, des horaires renforcés en élémentaire pour tous, et des groupes de compétences en langues dès la classe de CM1. Pour la prochaine rentrée, l’Ecole du Nord aura une section internationale dès le CP (6 ans).
We celebrated the 54th anniversary of the independence of Mauritius at school today. The pupils of CPC baked biscuits with their English and French teacher. They read the recipe, made the dough then used cookie cutters representing the map of Mauritius and the Dodo. After that, they listened to the Prime Minister’s message and sang the national anthem. The biscuits were yummy and we had a nice time.
St Patrick’s Day was celebrated on the 17th of March. Many shades of green were seen at school to celebrate this joyous Irish festival. In Ireland, the colour green symbolizes hope and springtime. Little leprechauns wearing hats and shamrocks could be seen bowing, jumping, clapping and dancing in class. A leprechaun is an Irish legend. It is a magical creature. If you capture one, it will give you its pot of gold. Happy St Patrick’s Day to all of you.
